Meet Julie Rathsack

By day, Julie Rathsack crunches numbers and deciphers data as a Manager of Business Insights. But when the clock strikes five, she trades her spreadsheets for ghost stories and becomes Grand Rapids' very own ghost whisperer. Julie is the mastermind behind A Haunted History of Grand Rapids (2024) and The Ghostly Tales of Grand Rapids (2025), and she co-wrote the spine-tingling best-seller Ghosts of Grand Rapids (2013).

Since 2015, Julie has been leading ghost tours, delighting (and occasionally terrifying) her guests with tales of the supernatural. Her ghost-hunting adventures began in 1995, and she's since explored haunted hotspots far and wide. With her encyclopedic knowledge of local history and the paranormal, Julie is the ultimate ghost guru of Grand Rapids.

A proud alumna of Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC) with an associate degree in liberal arts, Julie has wowed audiences with her presentations for the Grand Rapids Historical Society. She works closely with their Trustees to ensure her ghostly tales are as accurate as they are eerie. Julie's true passion lies in unraveling the mysteries behind personal ghost stories and identifying the spirits who haunt them.

Julie lives in Grand Rapids with her ever-patient husband, Dave, and their two spirited sons. Whether she's solving business puzzles or ghostly mysteries, Julie's life is a thrilling blend of the ordinary and the extraordinary.
